The Harlequin is a major shopping centre, located in the centre of Watford and is a highly sensitive trading environment. The centre is open to the public 7 days a week.   A & L were appointed to undertake a series of shell and core and refurbishment projects to create new retail accommodation. The projects involved converting existing fire escape corridors and staircases and existing shops to form new retail units to both the upper and lower malls. Works included the diversion of extensive mechanical, electrical, fire and building management systems, all serving the existing trading shopping centre.
